宮原啓造・工学部教授と、宮原研究室の大原夏輝氏・博士前期課程１年が、2023年10月31日から11月3日にタイ王国チェンマイで開催された The 35th 2023 IEEE Region 10 Conference (IEEE TenCon 2023) において、“Camera Image Dehazing and Target Detection for Autonomous Vehicles”と題する研究発表を行いました。この会議はロボティクスや制御分野を主な対象としており、IEEE（米国電気電子学会）のアジア太平洋支部（Region 10）で毎年開催される国際会議です。自動運転車両への応用を目指した、緊急停止用カメラ画像処理システムに関する研究成果の発表に対して、研究に適用された各種画像処理手法の得失等について聴衆から多数の質問があり活発な議論が行われました。
Professor MIYAHARA Keizo (School of Engineering) and Mr. OHARA Natsuki (Graduate student, Master course 1st year) gave a presentation titled “Camera Image Dehazing and Target Detection for Autonomous Vehicles” at the 35th 2023 IEEE Region 10 Conference (IEEE TenCon 2023), held from October 31st to November 3rd, 2023 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. IEEE TenCon is an international conference of Engineering fields including: Robotics, Control, Instrumentation, and Automation technologies. This annual conference is organized by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) local chapter among the Asia-Pacific region (IEEE Region 10). The presentation proposed an object recognition system for autonomous vehicles specifically aimed at their emergency stopping. This talk was followed by a lively discussion with the audience regarding several image processing techniques applied in the study.
