A research titled “Development of International Accounting Education for Global Accounting Profession: An International Comparative Approach” (Professor Satoshi Sugahara, School of Business Administration; a leading research) was accepted by JSPS as a fund for the Promotion of Joint International Research (Fostering Joint International Research(A)). This study aims to explore skills and competencies that are necessary to success as a global accounting profession, and further attempt to investigate and develop innovative pedagogies and approaches of accounting education to obtain these skills and competencies. Using active learning approaches adopted for classroom cohorts both from Japan and European countries, this research empirically conduct an international comparative study using a quasi-experimental research method.
