伊藤正範・商学部教授が開催校委員を務める「第31回日本ギャスケル協会例会」が6月1日、大阪梅田キャンパスで開催され、およそ30名の会員や研究者が参加しました。
日本ギャスケル協会は、ヴィクトリア朝女性作家エリザベス・ギャスケル（Elizabeth Gaskell, 1810-65）の生涯と作品および関連分野の研究と会員相互の親睦を目的とし、英国ギャスケル協会とも交流を深めています。
31回目となった本例会では研究発表2件と講演が行われ、活発な議論と意見交換が繰り広げられ、盛会のうちに閉幕いたしました。

The 31st Regular Meeting of the Gaskell Society of Japan, organized by Professor Masanori Ito (School of Business Administration), was held at Osaka Umeda Campus, Kwansei Gakuin University on June 1, 2019. Approximately 30 Society members attended the meeting.
The Gaskell Society of Japan aims to promote research on the life and works of Elizabeth Gaskell (1810-65) and also to deepen mutual understanding and friendship among the members, encouraging all sorts of exchanges with the Gaskell Society in the UK.
At the regular meeting, two research papers were presented, followed by a lecture. Each of them was concluded with a lively question and answer session. The meeting was a great success.
