IEFL, Craig Mertens of Language Center gave a presentation on Intercultural Interaction at the 19th Annual CamTESOL Conference, which was held from February 17th to the 19th, 2023, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. CamTESOL is the premier professional development forum for teachers of English in Cambodia. It has also become a significant international conference with over 700 international participants from around 30 countries now attending annually. Total registration is approximately 2,000. The conference purpose is to host talks and panel discussions on timely streams, which are related to teaching and learning in the digital era, including some practical language implementation in teaching and learning, future-ready skills, wellbeing topics, and industry trends in the post-pandemic era and beyond, by leading local and international experts, world-renowned researchers and innovators, educational influencers, policymakers, and QA bodies.
MERTENS Craig is an EFL educator with over 13 years experience teaching in universities in the Kansai area of Japan and presenting in countries all over the world. He holds a TESOL M.S.Ed. degree from Temple University, Japan campus. Currently, he is teaching young adults at Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya, Japan. His research aims are exploring thinking routines in EFL learning, building student fluency, using technology for classroom and online presentations, and creating tasks for self-access learning centers.
