ジョン・ワトキンズ（SIL）・言語教育研究センター言語特別講師は、2024年1月26日、27日にタイのチェンマイで開催されたタイTESOLの第43回国際会議で、政治キャンペーンをシミュレートする研究について発表しました。彼の発表は「EFLクラスルームにおける政治キャンペーンのシミュレーション」と題され、彼が通常行う2ヶ月間のプロジェクトについて詳しく述べました。世界各国から約30名の専門教員が出席し、喉の病気に苦しむ中、ワトキンズは勇敢で立派なパフォーマンスを行いました。発表後、複数の会議参加者が質問をし、励ましの言葉を送りました。
On January 27, 2024, Jon Watkins (SIL) of the Language Center at Kwansei Gakuin University presented his research into simulating political campaigns at ThaiTESOL's 43rd International Conference, which was held on the 26th and 27th of January, 2024, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. His presentation was entitled "Simulating political campaigns in the EFL classroom," and detailed a two month long project he commonly has his Intensive English students perform. The presentation was well-attended by about 30 professional teachers from all around the world, and Watkins performed bravely and admirably in spite of suffering laryngitis. After the presentation, multiple conference attendees asked questions and offered encouragement.
