Associate Lecturer of English, Professor Mary Chang, of the School of Policy Studies gave a workshop “Learning through Multiple Senses and Skills” at the 19th LaoTESOL International Conference held from February 6-7, 2025, in Vang Vieng District, Vientiane Province, Laos PDR. The theme for the 19th LaoTESOL International Conference is “Innovative Approaches to ELT: Teaching Methods and Assessment” where over 180 Laotian English educators, mostly heads of various school districts, were invited to attend the presentations and workshops given by international presenters. The conference was sponsored by the Laos National University, the US Embassy's Regional English Language Office, Japan Association of Language Teachers – Teachers Helping Teachers Special Interest Group (JALT-THT SIG), and the Books@DK Publishers. In addition to the active and interactive presentations and workshops, noted author, Dr. Jack C. Richards (co-author of the Interchange English textbook series) as well as Professor Alastair Graham-Marr (co-owner of ABAX Publishing in Japan) each gave one of the keynote presentations. In the closing comments, the head of the conference organizing committee announced that most of the attendees were very satisfied with the new techniques and different methodologies for learning English that were introduced by the presenters and were confident they could share this knowledge with the teachers in their school districts.
