IEFL, Daniel Warchulski from the School of Architecture gave a presentation on how promoting autonomous learning through the use of self-assessment activities affects students' motivational dispositions at the 42nd Thailand TESOL International Conference. The conference was held from January 27 to January 28, 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference is held annually with speakers and participants attending primarily from Asian countries, including Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. As well, plenary and featured speakers are invited from around the world to provide additional insights and future directions pertaining to the field. This year's conference provided an opportuniity for approximately 100 presenters and hundreds of participants from a wide range of multidisciplinary fields related to language teaching and learning to share their ideas and discuss future directions, thereby deepening attendees' understanding of language education. In particular, plenary speakers Ann McAllen and Ian Clifford, as well as featured speakers John Macalister and Frances Westbrook, shared some important insights.
