操智（そう ち）・国際学部常勤講師が日中両国の漢字の比較研究領域における代表研究者として2023年8月18日から20日にかけて、中国・青島（ちんたお）で開催された国際シンポジウム（第14回中日対照言語学シンポジウム）に参加しました。このシンポジウムは、中日対照言語学研究会によって主催された同時に、日本国際交流基金会・北京大学・外語教学与研究出版社・上海外語教育出版社などの団体・機関からの協賛があり開催されています。この中日対照言語学研究会は日中両国の対照言語学の領域において最も大きな学会で、対照言語学の領域において多くの優秀な研究成果をあげたことで、世界中にもよく知られています。このたびの学会は、日中両国の大学から約60校の200人が参加しました。
このシンポジウムで操智が発表した論文のタイトルは「日中両国漢字『真』／“真”の字義の相違が生じた原因に関する研究」で、初めて日中両国漢字がそれぞれの字義の史的変遷の角度から日中両国の漢字に対して系統的に行った対照研究について記述しています。
漢字は文化の絆として日中両国間の友好交流上、大きな役割を果たしています。これから操智の研究に関するものは、日中両国間の現代・伝統文化や言語や教育及び経済の交流などにおいて益々多くの助力を尽くすことが期待されます。

CAO Zhi is a full-time lecturer in the Faculty of International Studies. He participated in the 14th International Association of Chinese-Japanese Contrastive Linguistics held in Qingdao, China on August 18~20 this year as a representative researcher in the field of comparative research on Chinese characters in Japan and China. This symposium was organized by the China-Japan Comparative Linguistics Study Group, and was also sponsored by organizations and institutions such as the Japan Foundation of Japan, Peking University, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Publishing House, and Shanghai Foreign Language Education Publishing House. The China-Japan Contrastive Linguistics Study Group is the largest academic society in the field of contrastive linguistics in both Japan and China. This year's conference was attended by 200 people from about 60 universities in Japan and China.
The title of his paper presented at this symposium was "A Study on the Causes of the Difference in the Meaning of the Chinese Characters 'shin' and 'zhen' between Japan and China." This paper is the first time that Chinese characters in both Japan and China systematically contrasted Chinese characters from the angle of historical changes in their meanings. The symposium was praised by many experts and scholars. It also received a great response.
Chinese characters play a major role in friendly exchanges between Japan and China as cultural bonds. It is expected that his research will contribute more and more to modern and traditional culture, language, education, and economic exchanges between Japan and China.
