工学部情報工学課程の徳山豪教授が、2024年5月31日～2024年6月１日に、大阪で開催された第15回AAAC2024国際会議を、会議実行委員長として開催しました。AAAC（Asian Association for Algorithms and Computation）は、アジア地区における、アルゴリズム理論と理論計算機科学の研究者が集い情報交換を行うフォーラムとして2007年に開始され、毎年年会を国際会議として開催し、今回は15回目になります。アジア地区を中心とした８カ国から８０名の研究者が集まり発表・討議が行われました。平原秀一（NII准教授）氏によるメタ計算量理論の最近の進展、Herbert Edelsbrunner（ISTオーストリア）氏によるトポロジー的データ解析を用いた未解決問題の進展の二件の招待講演と、20件の一般講演が行われ、アルゴリズムと計算理論の最先端の成果が紹介され、活発な議論および研究の連携に関する討論が行われました。

Prof. Takeshi Tokuyama (Dept. Eng., Computer Science Dpt.) organized the 15th AAAC2014 Annal International Symposium held on May 31 and June 1, 2024, at Osaka. AAAC(Asian Association for Algorithms and Computation) was established in 2007 as a discussion forum of Asian researchers on Algorithm Theory and Theoretical Computer Sciences, and the symposuimu was the 15th annual meeting.
80 researhers from 8 countries gathered and gave presentations and discussions. Two invited talks by Prof. Shuichi Hirahara (NII) and Herbert Edelsbrunner(IST Austria) was given on Meta Complexity theory and Topological Data Analysis was given, as well as 20 contributed talks to introduce recent progress on theory of Algoirthms and Computation, and the audience gave exciting discusiions.
